Choose a life of contentment

Saw an interesting car bumper sticker the other day “a bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.” Humourous yes, sad yes!

Most of us spend a third of our lives at work. It is a waste of our lives if that time is miserable. For me it comes down to attitude and intent. We can live our lives in “quiet discontent” or travel the contentment road which means being content even in the moments where we don’t feel content!

We have one life to live. And it’s short. Better to live the time we’ve got contented than miserable or negative. A key is to view each aspect of our lives, work, rest, and play, as an opportunity to be all that we are capable of becoming, which Robert Louis Stevenson once said is the only purpose in life.

As Norm Murray says “ "Our greatest gift in life is contentment. Our greatest regret is not experiencing it."
